To my family, friends & community,

Recently, I got a call from the landlord. The call that no community center wants to get--he’s selling the property that we currently live in, do business from and run our wellness and community youth programs out of. A spacious 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom compound in the Greater Accra region of Ghana, West Africa.

For 15 years, I’ve been building relationships and serving as a bridge between my Ghanaian students, family, and community and my networks in America. I am the founder of both Califa Consulting LLC based in California and The Universal Family Network NGO, an international mutual aid network based in Ghana. The finances that we bring in from the LLC support the community based educational and wellness programs that we run. In order to have power over our healing, we need to own the building that we run our educational and wellness programs from.

To my fellow healers, educators, and Pan-African freedom fighters, we are calling on 1,000 supporters to donate $210 in order to meet our goal by December 2022. (However, you may make a custom donation that’s within your budget or break up your contribution over time.) We are fundraising $210K to buy the property, secure it as our permanent mutual aid headquarters and to support the operational costs needed to run our community educational and wellness center.

Additionally, we ask that our fundraiser be shared with angel investors, organizations and philanthropists that want to support our international mutual aid work of building, educating and healing the Pan African diaspora within our own interdependent communities. The funds will be utilized for:

$90,000 for acquisition of our headquarters/land base in the Greater Accra region of Ghana
$10,000 for operational costs (water, electricity, gas, cleaning supplies, first aid materials, repairs, internet, wood, trees, fertilizer, irrigation systems, technology, bore hole and well building & digging etc.)
$90,000 for staff stipends (Administrative Manager, Intern, Youth Center Coordinator, Program Director, 3 full time Team Members, and Marketing Team)
$10,000 to provide daily food and beverages for the community education and wellness programs
$5,000 for educational materials (educational books, workbooks, notebooks, paper, pens, markers, pencils, book bags, whiteboards, subject-specific supplies, games, paints and other visual art supplies etc.)
$5,000 for wellness supplies (seeds and herbal medicine, gauze, bandages, shea butter, essential oils, frankincense, myrrh, incense, aroma therapy, clay pots, cloths for belly wrapping, baby wearing, chacha mats, avocado oil, caster oil, clay, black soap, disinfectants, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, over the counter medication, instruments for sound therapy: hand bells, rattles, bells, drums, etc.)

By reaching our fundraising goal, we will be able to expand our community programs in Ghana. We’ve already built a fully-stocked library in our center with books and educational supplies. We are currently developing an on-site store that will be used to support our fundraising efforts and teach entrepreneurship skills to the children. We also plan to use the space for transitional housing to aid those in the Diaspora that desire to visit and relocate to Ghana.

Between our LLC and our NGO we offer:

Cultural exchange, wellness and volunteer trips to Ghana
Wholistic healing services: mental, spiritual and nutritional health consultation in addition to hands-on training and service. A few examples include, Energy Healing from the Kemetic (Ancient Egyptian) Ra Sheki lineage, AriAnkhKa and Womb Yoga from Ancient Egypt, Sealing Ceremonies from the Meso American lineage (Ceremonia de Cerradas), bodywork and massage
Culturally Responsive educational consulting and educational resources in the form of direct instruction, laptops, books, educational supplies, school fees & schooling expenses
Full spectrum birth-work services: prenatal, labor and delivery childbirth support, postpartum care and placenta processing
Financial assistance to support the housing, feeding and professional development of our international community
